So 19th July is being called Freedom Day but it has most of us running small businesses feeling very wary and here is why.
- We have already been victims of Track and Trace which has led to Staff Shortages
- One of the girls has kids who could not go into school withour a PCSR Test which took a couple of days before she could come back in – which led to staff shortages.
- 2 of the girls that work here are not Double Jabbed
- Some delays in our Supply Chain, with major haulage companies not having enough staff
What Action am I taking?
- Wearing of masks is still mandatory if you are coming in to shop with us, obviously exclusions are taken into account.
- I did think about changing my hours to slightly shorter so that at least I can cover the hours myself if no one else can get in. I obviously cant leave my dogs all day.
- Please use the Hand Sanitizer as before when entering the shop.
- We have the Fire Doors Open aswell during the day to ensure a good air flow.
- I am trying to keep fully stocked so we dont run out.
- I have suspended Local Deliveries as I cannot commit to be able to do these at the moment.
My Recommendations to you
I strongly recommend that you do not leave yourself short of food and that you try to keep at least a weeks worth in hand. If for instance we all got pinged by Track and Trace or even worse all got sick then the business would be forced to close for a limited time. I have seen this with a number of Companies in Weymouth over the last week.
We appreciate your patience during this time and thank you for your business.
